ABOUT ME
Hey my name's Mario A. Figueroa! The "A" is for Alejandro. How ya doin'? I'm 48 years old, an' I love to act 'cause it allows me to be creative an' I enjoy it very much. I was born an' raised in the Bronx, New York City, New York an' I'm a cancer survivor for over ten years. I was 14 years old when I got the actin' bug, when I got the lead role of Conrad Birdie in my junior high schools production of "Bye, Bye Birdie." I gotta be straight with ya, I like, no I love, horror flicks. I've loved watchin' 'em, especially the old Hammer Films that starred Peter Cushing an' Christopher Lee, like"Horror of Dracula" an' "Curse of Frankenstein," since I was a kid. I grew up on that stuff! I had , an' still have, this dream of starring in a horror movie.

Like I said, I was born an' raised in New York City, but in 1992 I moved to Central Florida to find my dream. Lemme tell ya, it wasn't easy, an' as John Lennon sang in his song "Beautiful Boy," life is what happens while you're busy makin' other plans. My first job in Florida wasn't a glamorous acting gig. It was as a service person at the Holiday Inn in Altamonte Springs. But, a year after I had moved to Florida, I met Rosa, the most beautiful woman on the face of the earth. Rosa an' I dated for about three years, an' in 1995 we got married. Three years later our son, Gabriel Alexander Figueroa was born in 1998.
In the late summer of 1999, I auditioned for a role as a "scaractor" for Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights IX: Last Gasp. I was cast in the role of The Embalmer in that years signature haunted house "The Mummy's Revenge," and that's where I met my manager, Daniel Ingraham, he was my make up artist. I've been a seasonal actor there ever since, as well as workin' for the Seminole County School system for the past 15 years. October 2010 marked my 12th consecutive Halloween Horror Nights. While, I do love doing Halloween Horror Nights, I really want to expand my horizon further, I want to act in movies, maybe television and commercials too. I am always open to new and unusual roles, and challenges. I want to grow and develop as an actor. Hope to work with you, soon, in the movies
All My Best,
Mario
